This coming Sunday, August 20 is our annual pontoon float; if you want to join us, please see the information below for what it will cost you as a non-member or what you should bring.
Lori will have sign up sheets for members on what to bring or if you need a ride out to the float site at Brewster’s Tuesday night (8/15/17) and you may also rsvp via our facebook page. The Mohney’s have offered to be our host house and we will have a taco/burrito bar.
It’s time to start thinking year end party and we are always open for restaurant suggestions to check out….has anybody been to the Cove on West Lake yet?? I know a few of us are either heading to Peru, Abaco Island and Ireland this fall so it might be tricky to gather in early fall.

WOW, where has the spring gone?? Tomorrow night is the last night of our 2017 Spring Series and the weather looks great – WNW wind at 11 mph and only a 15% chance of bad weather….NICE!!
Please welcome an old friend – Greg Allen who used to race with us and reached out to join us again!
Don’t Forget – We go immediately into the Summer Series NEXT week, June 27th, then take the next week off for the 4th of July, resuming again on July 11th.
Committee Boats & Race Chairs – we need people to sign up for this or we will forfeit racing after July 11!! Andy & I will move our dates from the last two weeks to June 27th & July 11th to get us into Summer Series but we need Race Chairs and boats for the rest of summer….PLEASE MESSAGE DAVE DUNLAP OR ME BACK TO SIGN UP!! email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org As a reminder – you do not need to be a member of the fleet to supply a Committee Boat but you do need to be a member if you want to be a Race Chair.
Pontoon Float – we are still looking for a host house, you get to pick the date – July 23 or August 20.
Hope you have been enjoying this beautiful weather!!
WOW, we are at week #6 of the 2017 Spring Series with tomorrow’s weather looking fairly decent and hopefully those forecasted isolated t-storms will bypass our lake area
Winds should be around NNE10-15, and temps in the mid-seventies.
We are looking ahead for the summer pontoon boat party – after looking at the various regatta calendars, we have come up with two possible dates – July 23 or August 20. We are also looking for a host house to accommodate everyone for dinner
Let me know if you are interested in being the host house for the pontoon float and you can choose which Sunday we gather.
Hello all Austin Lake Catamaran racers and social members!
The officers met and have set Saturday, March 18, as our Spring Kick-off Meeting date. A meeting starting at 5:00 pm with dinner & socializing to follow. Bring your Irish as we will continue that theme on Saturday…flyer to follow.
Wanted to remind all of you of our upcoming party/dinner/meeting next week. We will be gathering in our own room at Comensoli’s in downtown Kalamazoo. We start with a cocktail hour with fleet provided appetizers, then move to dinner (family style salad also provided by fleet), then will have our annual officer elections/trophy awards. Please RSVP to Julie at email@example.com with your dinner choice. The attached flyer will give you details of the menu. Also, I will be finding out what the weekly special is going to be very soon, so will send an update out with the specifics of that dish. I’m so looking forward to it, it’s going to be a great time!
We have wonderful weather predicted for this Sunday’s Float party. If you haven’t done so already, please RSVPto myself or Julie so we know how much smoked meat to order from Barrett’s. We can arrange for rides out to the flotilla if we know you need one!
Non-lake residents please arrange for a ride for fun and sun, or be at Andy & Julie’s house (9833 Woodlawn Dr) by no later than 1:45 (when the pontoon boat leaves the dock). Bring Jello or pudding shots or snacks to share on the water. We will be on the water from 2-4:30 PM after which we will return to the Lenczycki’s for dinner to follow. Fleet will provide fixin’s for tacos/wraps, fun salsa’s and some beverages. BRING either a salad, fruit or veggies to share at Lenczycki’s. See you on the water.
Thinking ahead to fleet activities and the annual pontoon boat float party – we have selected two possible Sundays which should minimally conflict with other sailing events: July 24th or August 7th, both are Sundays. Please let us know which of these dates you prefer, and if you can host the gathering for dinner afterwards – the host has the liberty for choosing the date that works the best for them. We wanted to get this planned soon.
