Update on the Fleet 126 Michigan City 1-Day Regatta Scheduled for 7/21/23
Giving you a heads up. Our Race Committee has moved Race 1 from Saturday to this Sunday due to the weather forecast and because anticipated sea and wind conditions are more favorable on Sunday. Boats will be arriving between 8:00am and 9:00am on Sunday. Our Skippers Meeting is scheduled for 9:00 am at the Beach Boat ramp with the first race scheduled for 11:00am. We will be finished by 5:00pm and departing the parking lot no later than 7:00 pm Sunday evening. No parking lot barricades are required and we will not be putting up any beach fencing as this is only a day regatta with no overnight beach boat storage. Hobie Fleet 126 One Day Regattas
Hobie Fleet 126, Michigan City, Indiana will be hosting a series of one day races on Lake Michigan in 2023. See schedule below. Contact Michael Kucharski for more information.
2023 ALCA Series Racing Schedule Set
The Austin Lake Catamaran Association 2023 series racing schedule was formalized at the Spring Kick-Off Meeting on April 29, 2023.
- Spring Series will be for 6 weeks, starting on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 thru June 27, 2023.
- Summer Series will be for 8 weeks, starting on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 thru August 29, 2023.
- The Starting Sequence will commence at 6:30 PM each race night.
- We will have a Portsmouth A and Portsmouth B fleet (as long as there are at least 2 boats in a fleet).
- Check-in with the on the water Committee Boat before the 1st race begins each week so we can ascertain who and how many are on the boat.
- We plan on going to Jac’s at 7640 S. Westnedge after racing each week for race results and eating/drinking.
- Stayed tuned to your email and our Facebook page, ALCA FLEET #519, for updates on cancellations each week.

New fleet member Cameron Dick’s friend, Jake Allen was out on our pontoon boat the week of August 23, 2022 and shot video using a drone. Thanks to Jake for coming out and doing this for the fleet! You can see the video at August 23, 2022 Aerial.
Summer Series Results Posted
The Summer 2022 series racing results are posted on the Tuesday’s Results and the Series Results tabs. I will be reviewing and finalizing the series results over the weekend. If anyone has any questions or believe a correction needs to be made, email Andy Lenczycki.
ALCA Year End Party Date & Venue
Saturday, November 5, 2022, 6-9 PM at Traveler’s Cafe & Pub
The ALCA Year-End Party and Awards will be held at Traveler’s Cafe & Pub, this year. Fleet trophies and Most Improved Skipper awards will be given out as well as the voting of Fleet officers for 2023. Anyone interested in holding one of the Fleet officer positions should contact Kathy Rubino to be added to the slate of potential officers.
Traveler’s Travel Menu for October-November will be British Pub Fare – Bangers & Mash, Shepherd’s Pie, Fish & Chips as well as a limited regular menu. RSVP by October 22 to Julie Lenczycki @ crew480@yahoo.com or (269) 217-5918.
