This is our last scheduled week of racing for the year! My apologies for this late communication – hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and first weekend of college football – I know I sure did! Tonight’s weather is pretty iffy, with a 60% chance of thunderstorms and SSW winds at 9 mph at 6 pm – so stay tuned. It might turn out to be nice if there’s a break in the wave of storms. If we are cancelled, we still will gather at Brewster’s, so plan to come out anyway – I will call ahead to reserve “our spot” for us.

Summer Series Week 9 (9/1/15)
Summer’s back! Tuesday looks like the summer days of old, with hot temps at 86 degrees and SW Winds, at 7 mph, decreasing to 4 mph. We still meet at Brewster’s and will gather in the dining room to the left as you walk into the restaurant.
Summer Series Week 8 (8/25/15)
The summer series (and 2015 racing) is winding down, with tomorrow being Week 8 of 10. We’re looking at cool temps, with highs around 66 degrees F, cloudy skies and WNW winds at 10-15 mph. At Brewster’s following sailing, we meet in the dining room, as there is expected to be others in the room off to the side. Remember to save the date of our year end party – Saturday October 3rd – we are in the process of narrowing down a few choices for our end of year dinner celebration and will get that info out to all of you as soon as we know more.
Results of the protest that was heard last week will also be discussed at Brewster’s, so plan on attending.
Summer Series Week 7 (8/18/15)
Tomorrows’ forecast is for 5 to 10 mph winds out of the SSW and a 50% – 80% chance of storms. We have the room reserved at Brewster’s, so if we are cancelled, we can go there early. For many who have had numerous rules/right of way questions, this would be the perfect time to ask them, so plan to come out regardless of the weather situation. Who knows, it may just clear up!
Summer Series Week 6 (8/11/15)
We’re past the midpoint of summer series, the season is going quickly! We’ve been extremely “lucky” with wind, and it looks like it’s going to continue, with Tuesday’s conditions: NW winds at 10-20 mph and NOT decreasing too much into the night. We meet at Brewster’s afterwards, and as last week, another group is scheduled before us, so we’ll get the dining area to the left in the event that they’re still around.
Summer Series Week 5 (8/4/15)
The good news for the week – is that we’re due to have some wind tonight, not like Sunday’s nuclear blast (ask Andy & Dave S.), but still should be windy, with the forecast at 10 – 20mph out of the west with sunny skies in the 70s around race time. Hope everyone was safe yesterday with those storms – the pictures were absolutely amazing of what was going on up north!
Our gathering will be at Brewsters – however, we may not have the room since there is another group scheduled for 6pm. SO for the first ones to arrive – if there are people you don’t know in the room, go to the dining room to the left of the bar.
Summer Series Week 4 (7/28/15)
Summer is here this week! Yay! We’re looking at a high of 90 Tuesday, with 5 to 10 mph winds out of the southeast, becoming light and variable into the evening. After racing we go to Brewsters.
In the event of a cancellation, if there are folks who are here to attend, we would meet for a rules review – so if the weather looks iffy, still come on over (for those who are out of town)! Location TBD, but for certain weeks, like tomorrow, we know we’ll have the room earlier at Brewsters. A rules review is something both the newer folks as well as many of us who have “heard it before” would greatly benefit from!
The only other thing here is to remind everyone that the year end party is scheduled for Saturday October 3rd – so save the date!
Summer Series Week 3 (7/21/15)
Summer Series Week 2 (7/14/15)
Tomorrow is Week 2 of Summer series already! Forecast for tomorrow’s sailing time is partly cloudy, 76 degrees with a 20% chance of rain and NW winds around 13 mph, decreasing into the evening. After sailing we go to Brewster’s for results.
Also, if you haven’t already, please RSVP for the float party that is coming up this next Sunday, July 19th. For those who do not live on the lake, we’ll need to arrange a boat for you to go out on, unless you have your own watercraft, of course.
No Committee Boat = No Racing!
You all should have received another invite for the committee boat sign-up page. NOTE: This is NOT to work the committee boat, but rather than to PROVIDE a Committee Boat! We have been fortunate to have Dave D, Steve C. and Jeff D. provide a pontoon boat for the Spring Series, thanks guys! However, we only have a single 2 week slot signed up for summer, and that’s by Dave S. in August (thanks Dave!). WE NEED BOATS FOR JULY, or we will not be able to start the summer series! You can forward your invite to anyone else you may think is interested – including non-fleet members who live on the lake.
This sign up is protected by an access code. When prompted, enter the code “2015 ALCA” for access. There is a space between “2015” and “ALCA”. Each time slot is for 2 consecutive weeks.
