Once again, we cancelled racing for the night due to inclement weather conditions. We WILL be going to Burger Town Grille this week however, around 7 PM. For the following weeks, we are planning to go to Brewster’s. Stay tuned!
Week 3 Spring Series Races Cancelled
Races for Tuesday, May 19, 2015 have been cancelled due to cold temperature and moderately high wind conditions. Sailors will still be meeting at Burger Town Grille at 7 PM. Still to be resolved… a committee boat to use for weekly races.
Austin Lake Regatta Update
For the regatta dinner, if you are attending, we are asking fleet members to bring a dessert. Other dishes are provided for by the fleet.
Week 3 Spring Series (5/19/15)
Tuesday is here, and unfortunately, so is the cold front. At 6pm, the weather forecast is for 53 degrees and NW winds 10-20 mph with higher gusts. OK. As usual for this month, we are gathering at Burger Towne after sailing and earlier, around 7 if we don’t race.
Austin Lake Regatta Welcome Dinner
Just a reminder to everyone: we could not put together a welcome dinner at Latitude 42 for Friday evening (5/29/15). Instead, we are gathering at the Larsens’ place. It’s BYOB at this time, and we will distribute a list of restaurants that will deliver pizza and other casual types of food. Come on over and meet your fellow sailors!

2015 Austin Lake Regatta – May 30-31, 2015
The 2015 Austin Lake Regatta will be held on May 30-31, 2015 on Austin Lake in Portage, Michigan. Additional information is posted on the Austin Lake Catamaran Association’s Facebook page at Austin Lake Catamaran Association.
Committee Boat Required
Many of you were included on the new Sign-up Genius page I put together. Note: this is for the physical boat used for the committee boat and not for staffing. So far we have boats up to Spring Series Week 6 (June 9th) – if we don’t have a boat to use for a given Tuesday night, we won’t be sailing. Each slot is for two weeks, with the first date listed – wouldn’t let me have two dates in the column for as far as I know at this time. Even if you don’t have a boat, take a look at the page, it’s a neat system that could be used for whatever planning that needs to be done.
Week 2 Spring Series (5/12/15)
This Tuesday (5/12) looks a little warmer, with highs in the mid 50s and winds 15 – 25 mph. Should be interesting! We meet at Burger Town Grille afterwards.
8 Boats Kick Off 2015 Spring Series
Eight hardy (die-hard) sailors braved the 50 degree weather and chance of rain to kick off Week 1 of the 2015 Spring racing series on Austin Lake.
